As the owner of Carraway Financial Objectives, Chief Financial Officer of 1 Lilly Ranch and Keller Williams Commercial sales agent, he utilizes his experiences to attain the illusive balance between work and the joys of life.
Tyler has cultivated over two decades of comprehensive experience in the real estate sector. His expertise spans various critical areas, including lending practices and the intricacies of underwriting processes. Furthermore, Tyler possesses a deep understanding of real estate transactions, navigating the complexities of buying and selling properties. His investment acumen extends to both residential and commercial real estate markets, showcasing a versatile approach. This extensive background underscores his profound involvement in the multifaceted world of real estate.
Before creating Carraway Financial Objectives (CFO), Tyler held the position of Director of Finance and Strategic Initiatives (CFO for public sector) which included overseeing a $190MM budget for Campbell County, Virginia. In this uniquely created role, he transformed the budgeting system and reporting allowing for greater financial comprehension by the general public, presentation and cost allocation for the County, a system that remains in place presently. He also led a team in obtaining a AA bond rating for the County which produced $40MM in investment grade County issued bonds for building new school.
Concurrently while working with Campbell County, Tyler was the co-founder of 1 Lilly Ranch, a spinoff from a family cattle ranch that he was the seventh generation to. He lead the transformation from a ranching operation in Nebraska to a commercial land holding company based in Florida. In doing so, he increased return on assets (ROI) by over 1100% while carefully moving through family dynamics and deferring taxable capital gains via 1031 Exchanges.
Prior to being recruited to join Campbell County government, Tyler was a senior financial analyst for L3 Harris Technologies, a Fortune 500 company. In this role, he was responsible for the financial operations of the R&D department and proved his budgeting and negotiating skills by consistently delivering expenses within 2% of allocated funds to his department year over year.
Pervious to working with L3 Harris Technologies, Tyler was a Sales Account Supervisor with Belvac selling can making machinery around the world negotiating with multiple countries while coordinating shipping logistics.
Tyler earned an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Regis University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management from the University of Florida (Go Gators).
Outside of business pursuits, Tyler enjoys traveling, tennis, golf, pickleball, and snowboarding. The true joy of his life revolves around his daughter and wife of 28 years. “They are what drives me to be a better person every day and in every way.”
